A Plymouth baluster shaped mug, with notched loop handle, painted in coloured enamels with an exotic bird in a wooded landscape, and another bird in flight, beneath a gilt interlinked band, circa 1770, red painted tin mark. This distinctive style of painting is attributed to the celebrated French painter 'Mons Soqui', now believed to be Michel Soquet, who also worked at Vincennes and Sevres
