- Description
- A rare Bristol Porcelain Shell Salt c.1772-1774. Modelled as a shell upturned on 3 claw and ball feet, the interior painted with a spray of flowers. Mark: X6. A similar Salt is illustrated on page 146 of Nicholas Panes book 'English Potter - American Patriot? - Extracts from the extraordinary life of Richard Champion.' Another example is also in the Merchant Ventures Hall in Bristol where Champion was a member.
