A Bristol coffee cup, with unmoulded handle decorated in purple, painted with a stylised purple band above scattered flowers, the interior with angular orange dentil rim, c. 1770. No mark.

A rather sad old Bristol saucer with much gilt and decoration worn, but formerly featuring the symbol of Love in a gilt shield with laurel festoons and chains suspended from gilt roundels, all surrounded be an embellished gilt band. Mark blue X1. gilt. A perhaps redeeming feature is that it was in similar condition when it was photographed for the Trapnell catalogue (no. 349) in 1912
