A rare Bristol porcelain coffee cup, from the Fry service, with harebell-moulded ear-shaped handle, painted in delicate pale "dry blue" enamel by William Stephens with a flower spray and scattered flowers, beneath a basket-moudled band, gilt line rim, circa 1775, blue painted X mark and numeral 5. A fine Champion’s, Bristol, coffee cup with basketweave moulded border, painted in monochrome with flower sprays by James Banford. Banford was apprenticed to the Bristol factory. He became a renowned flower painter at Bristol, subsequently moving to Derby, where he also became one of the principal artists. The piece was made in the period January 1773 to August 1778. Blue "X" mark.

A rare Bristol ogee-shaped sucrier and cover, from the Fry service, with pinecone knop, painted in delicate pale "dry blue" enamel by William Stephens with flower sprays and scattered flowers, gilt dentil borders, circa 1775, blue painted X mark and numeral 2 in gilt.
